PSAT Registration is Sept. 19-23 for Grades 10 & 11

Registration for the Oct. 15th PSAT takes place at school from Monday, Sept. 19, through Friday, Sept. 23rd. This test is required for Juniors in order to be considered for National Merit Scholarships and is a practice version of the SAT. It is optional practice for Sophomores; the scores of sophomores are not reported to anyone other than the student and are used to give feedback for future testing. Registering students should...

Bring a check/money order (no cash!) for $25 payable to Hunter College High School. Please include the student's name and Hunter I.D. # in the memo line. Bring the check to the hallway opposite the elevator on the 2nd floor during Activities or 5th Periods (only!) from Sept. 19-23rd; registrants will receive a copy of the Official Student Gide to the PSAT/NMSQT to help prepare for the test (while supply lasts). Students eligible for fee waivers should notify Ms. Sheila Garcia when registering. There are five slots for the alternate test date on Wednesday, Oct. 12, with preference given to Sabbath observers; again, see Ms. Garcia.

Students should arrive for the test at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 15th. The testing portion lasts 2 hours and 10 minutes. Students should bring two #2 pencils, student I.D. and a calculator (either four-function, scientific or graphing). Students will not be allowed to access lockers on the test day.
