What information do we collect?

  • When you become a parent and join the PTA, we collect from you contact information, such as  phone numbers, home addresses and email addresses. 
  • We also collect information regarding your preference as to the visibility of your contact information to other PTA members and Hunter College High School administrators and faculty.
  • We receive your identification information and credit card number when you make a payment on our site.  We do not, however, retain any credit card or other information related to making a payment.

What do we use your information for?

The information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

  • To personalize your experience (your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs).
  • To improve our website (we continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you).
  • To improve customer service (your information helps us to more effectively respond to your customer service requests and support needs).
  • To process transactions. 
  • To administer a survey.
  • To send periodic emails
    • The parent email addresses that you provide when you join the PTA may be used to send communications from the school and from the PTA. This information includes, but are not limited to, student report cards, general and personal communications from school faculty, and communications from the PTA.

The email address you provide for order processing is used only to send you information and updates pertaining to your order.  We do not sell, exchange, transfer, or give  your information, whether public or private,  to any other company  for any reason, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.

  • We use a secure (https) server.
  • All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and  encrypted into our Payment gateway providers database and only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems.  All such authorized persons are instructed  to keep the information confidential.
  • We do not store credit card information in our servers. After a transaction, your credit card information will not be kept on our files.

Do we use cookies?

  • Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (unless you disallow) that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information.
  • We use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart and understand and save your preferences for future visits.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

  • We disclose parent and student contact information (except for those students whose parents have opted out) to other Hunter College High School parents and students, and to the HCHS administration, and only to those parties. 
  • We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer personally identifiable information to outside parties. We do provide information to those trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety.

Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.
