7:00-8:45 Main Meeting in the Auditorium
Building Bridges in The Age of Technology

In recent PTA meetings we have explored the impact of technology and new forms of social media on bullying  and cheating.  In this upcoming meeting, Craig Hatkoff, a writer and co-founder of the Tribeca Film Festival, and renowned speaker/author Rabbi Irwin Kula will discuss how we can use digital-age techniques to help our kids (and ourselves) create bridges in an increasingly polarized world.  By applying Harvard guru Clay Christensen's groundbreaking theory of "disruptive innovation" to spirituality, the speakers will explore ways in which we can look at the world differently and create new meaning in our lives.

Entrepreneur and writer Craig Hatkoff is the author of the New York Times #1 best-selling children’s book Owen and Mzee.  Rabbi Irwin Kula, repeatedly identified by Newsweek as one of America’s “most influential rabbis,” is the author of the award-winning book Yearnings: Embracing the Sacred Messiness of Life, and the creator of the PBS television series Simple Wisdom.

Hope to see you at this thought-provoking evening!  As always, we welcome your questions for the presenters in advance.  Please send questions to Ayelet Sela at programming@hunterpta.org

The PTA will supply minivan transportation to a main subway/bus stop in Flushing, Queens following the meeting. If you need this transportation please RSVP to Yun Zhong Shu at bus@hunterpta.org by Tuesday (January 22), 12 pm
