Spring Musical March 26-28: "The Average Achievers" by HCHS grad

Parents and students are cordially invited to the premier of the brand new musical,  "The Average Achievers,"  a hilarious journey of a young man and his friends trying to figure out how to balance their desire to be just kids with the expectations they face at school. Tickets for the production are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and non-HCCS students, and $5 for HCCS students. For more information, read on.

The Spring Musical this season production features music and lyrics by Benji Goldsmith, HCHS class of 2010 and a former Musical Rep director, and book by playwright Jonathan Karpinos.  It is being directed byMeg Sturiano of the English and CT Department, with musical direction by Robert Randall of the Art and Music Department.

The show follows a group of students at a fictional school, Akron Heights High, where over-achievement is the norm.  During a particularly challenging junior year, a group of kids known as the Average Achievers decides it's no longer interested in business as usual.  An elderly SAT prep teacher, a prestigious scholarship award, and some high-pressure hacking all conspire to force the characters to face the consequences of daring to be anything but overachieving at Akron Heights.

 The Average Achievers will be presented at HCHS on Thursday, March 26 at 4 pm, Friday, March 27 at 4 pm and 8 pm, and Saturday, March 28 at 7 pm.
